got her dyno'd wasnt too thrilled

Ok so i go to an event that is hosted by a performance shop for stealths, 3000gt's and evo's. so i have a friend call up and they say as long as they can strap mine down they can do mine too. so i pull in and im the only domestic lol. man did i feel out of place. so i get her dyno'd and these are the numbers she produces. she is pushing 170 horse to the wheels and 258 tourque. now they showed the fuel ratio as off the charts. she was throwing a lot of fuel into her. now they suggested to get that fixed and flash the computer at which point i told them i cant do that they dont make tuners for my car. and that i would have to get a chip burned. well i would like to know what you guy would suggest for me. now im not rich so i cant just go and spend a grand here and there. so far i have a 3 inch exhaust from the exhaust manifold back and no cat's. and well thats really all. she has an engine and trans rebuild. the trans has a shift kit installed. and the engine s boared a little over. i have to replace the EGR because i keep setting off a code. i assume that could be one of the problems with the fuel ratio being off. i have videos and pictures on my cardomain if you want to look there.

i was also told by a co-worker about locking the converter and that would free up some extra horse, but looking on here people say that it wont really make a difference.

Re: got her dyno'd wasnt too thrilled

Seems kinda low I guess, seeing as mine made 195/273 with only an HSR, headers, ORY, and a Borla.

im not good with these things: HSR??? ORY???? and is yours a manual trans. mine it an auto. from what i could tell the man. came with 245 horse. and the auto came with 220 i could be wrong though. me and a co worker looked at each part on the two and compaired them.

just to add a little something else i need to find out why my car is getting hot. i know that too might have had an effect on it. i think i have to replace the water pump.

Re: got her dyno'd wasnt too thrilled

HSR = Holley Stealth Ram
ORY = Off Road Y-Pipe (no cats)
My car was an auto originally, so it came with the smaller cam, rated 195hp, 5 speed was 215hp.
I converted to a 5 speed about 2 or so years ago.

Re: got her dyno'd wasnt too thrilled

actually in my opinion thats quite a good number for rear wheel hp. 190 or maybe 195 is stock on the auto 305s thats at flywheel.

not bad at all for wheels.

the 5 spds got a larger cam and were rated 220 or 230 depending on exhaust options.

my 89 lb9 5 speed car has edelbrock headers, edelbrock y pipe, borla catback, airfoil, 22# accel injectors, k&n filters, aluminum driveshaft, 1.6 jegs roller rockers and probably some other tiny mods and i'd be thrilled with 220 wheel horsepower. I'll get a dyno sheet up once i put a new distributor in it and new wires...... Need a baseline b4 heads cam and ported intake swaps.

Yea i agree. At first I thought it was kinda low too but then i realized its a stock rebuild. Your engine is running the way its supposed to as far as i can tell from across the net lol. 170 at the wheels for a stock tpi 305 is good. Mine is modded to all hell and could only manage 216rwhp on the dyno. Then again it needs some more work to be running perfect.
