currently runing a 5.7 l98 tpi .. i need to reset my timing.. yet i have a msd 6al box with the harness for the gm coil and a adjustable Timing Control pn 8680..do i have to disconnect my msd and run the stock set up.. disconnect the tan with black wire from the computer . adjust my timing. connect the wire back .. then hook up the msd set up ??

 

Might be easier that way..... or, set the timing control to whatever passes for zero (not affecting timing in either direction) and see what happens. The multiple spark at idle speeds may, or may not, give your timing lite fits....
