help
ok I'm gonna post this question here cause I posted it somewhere else and all I got was a dumb response.
I have an 86 Iroc Z with 350TPI, when I start it, it takes a long while before the RPM's come down and if I shift into any gear before the RPM's go down it hits very hard. It doesn't matter whether the engine is cold or warm.
Any ideas......this is driving me crazy.

Good question, I would like to know the answer to this one, because my friends 91 RS does the same thing!

1FastZ,
You may have a sluggish IAC. HAve you tried removing the IAC, cleaning the air passages, and cleaning/lubricating the IAC pintle?
Just a possibility.

I had an 85 TA that did the same thing when the throttle body was clean it would go up to 2300 rpm and then very slowly go down to a very smooth idle. I tried everything and it never got any better! My 89 never does that, I have no idea what the difference is.
