Urgent fuel rail question.

I'm in the process of taking the fuel rail completely apart to replace all the o-rings and I was wondering if the joint where the fuel inlet tube goes into the rail is seperable. It doesn't seem to want to come out easily, and the service manual doesn't show it coming out in the exploded view, but I have one large o-ring in the kit that looks like it belongs there. Thoughts/suggestions are welcome. Thanks for your time.

This just from what i THINK i remember mine being like. Does that inlet thread into the rail, i can't remember, i think it might be part of the rail.
Anyway, if it has a nut that threads into the rail, then i say its probobly removable, and if not then i would leave it be- don't want to break that line or get a leak.
Sorry i couldn't help more.

Jethro,

IIRC, my '86 has a steel fuel inlet line that is swaged into the end of the rail. The return pipe is removable, but the inlet pipe is more or less permanently installed.

The larger 'O' ring may be for the cold start injector (if you have one). The fuel line for the cold start injector is seperable and uses a larger diameter ring.

Cold Start valve as Vader states.
