converting maf to sd

I have a 88 camaro with a tpi350. It has a 58mm throtle body, stock plenum/slp runners both well ported, trickflow g2 heads, 230/230@ .050 .512 lift cam, and 11 to 1 cr. I believe I am having problems with my maf sensor as my best time is 13.01@100mph. I tried porting the sensor and now it reads a trouble code. Is it possible to change my chip to a speed density from a later model camaro? Could I just swap the entire computer? Is there any tricks to make the base flow more?

You need to swap the computer, the chip, and the wire harness to go from MAF to Speed Density. Here's the website on how to do it:

I'd stay with MAF, IMO not a big enough difference to change. Great time for that mph but mph should be higher. You'd get more bang for the buck taking care of some of the bottlenecks rather then change systems.
I'd say those heads are having a hard time breathing. Intake manifold needs to be ported or you might as well put the stock tb back on. Bump the fp up add 1.6 rockers and that should take care of intake. Add freeflowing exhaust and then you should be posting about traction problems.

Sorry I haven't been on for awhile. I have true dual 3" exhaust with 2 chamber flowmasters, and I spin 275/50 dot hoosiers through first gear. I'm thinking of getting all out slicks but I still drive on the street regularly.
