My header gasket is blown and I to replace it but I don't rember what shape the ports are on the cast iron L98 heads. Also does anyone use the copper header gaskets? If so how long do they last? The ones I used only lasted about 6,000 miles. Thanks, Jason

The ports are somewhat square with rounded corners and sides. Kind of a rounded square for the lack of a better term.

Thanks, That's what I thought but was not sure, kinda like a D-shape almost.

 

Copper head gaskets are for racing only. That really means only racing. I am shocked that they made it 6,000 miles. If you want a good head gasket just go with Fel-Pro.
The exhaust ports are a square with rounded corners.
