just wondering how many of you had any problems with clearance between the back of the plenum peice and the wiper motor. mine is actually touching the wiper motor and i know when i start the car it is going to snap the motor off. i am not too concerned because i plan on taking it right off considering the car wont be driven in the rain. (rain-x also)
also what about hood clearance. i close my hood and it does close but... i think it is hitting about mid point across the plenum area (front to back) and also when i start the car... there goes my hood.i have such a nice paint job on it now that i dont want to ruin it.
and lastly....and i the only one who had a nightmare of a time getting the plenum to runner bolts in , in the middle underneath?

Those bolts are horrible man.. I have to take mine off and redo them tomorrow, I gave myself a vacuum leak by trying an easy way out.

I had no problem with the wiper motor, mine isn't touching, but its very close. I don't think it hits your hood, though.. are there scrapes or anything on the middle of the ram?

edit.. I didn't even put those bolts in, I just sealed it with silocone.. as far as I can tell I don't have a vacuum leak there, but I do have one in the runner that I need to take care of.

thats what i thought...i bought my sr used, and the guy slotted the bolts and i did put mine in but did not get them super tight. but i use a screw driver and do it from the inside. they should change that and use flush mounts from the inside and screw into the runner. you could do it yourself with minor effort, but i was too lazy

I bought mine used also the guy before me tapped the inner runner to plenum bolts on mine so you can run the bolts in from the top.

You can pull the wiper motor off and remove the rubber washers. Install them on the outside of the motor and tighten it back down. That will pull the wiper motor closer to the firewall to gain a little clearance.

I only had to take off the wiper motor rubber mount that was the closest to the corner of the intake. Still a tight fit, but it works.

To stop vacuum leaks, you may have to run some RTV around the ports and on the gaskets for piece of mind.

All of the bolts need to be started first, then tightened little by little, then finally snugged all together. It's a pain in the *** , but if you take your time and make sure that you have all of the bolts tightened to the same 'torque' then you don't have many problems, besides sore fingers.
