new info on 89 Iroc-stalling

Just came from mechanics and the car finally stalled for them. According to them the car is losing spark. Just before the car stalls the coil spark gets very weak and the injector pulse gets very weak. Does anyone have any ideas where to look for the culprit?

hey, maybe that'd solve my problem. my car will also occasionally die if it's left without a bit of thottle. as parts have broken on the car in the 30k miles, it's been that long huh, i've had it, the problem has gotten better. that problem, and starting, markedly improved when we changed the fuel filter and also when we had the alternator rebuilt when it died. now the problem is recognizable at startup by a weak pickup, engine starts but doesn't just jump into a normal idle like normal. when this happens i'm guaranteed that it will die when i pull up to the next stop, so, what to do. i've found that if i simply turn it off, which it wants to do anyway, pull the key out a click and put it back in, start the car, maybe have the fuel pump run for a min, the car will usually snap right into idle and i will have no problem. on a testy day it will mess with me for 3 tries or so, but i'm not worried cos it will eventually get going. and sometimes it does fool me and run ok, then all of a sudden go out. so i might try that computer thing if i ever have a chance to get a hold of one cheap, but for now, that's where i'm at on mine, maybe it'll help someone else out as well.
