How can I make this hood functional??

Well, I have to replace the hood on my Camaro, because someone hit my car. So, I'm taking the ram air hood off of my dad's Camaro, and I want to make it functional so I can have a nice ram air. I have a TPI in my car, and there are holes in the black grate so air can get through there. Any ideas? I was thinking of just mounting one of those K&N cone filters to the end of the throttle body, but I'm not sure if it will fit. Go to http://www.geocities.com/camarox84/ramair.html to see the hood. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have a couple of ideas that will work if you like them and they wouldn't be too expensive. I have thought about a ram air for my '92 for some time.
The first idea is to use a Corvette air box/filter cover,(it's like a single version of the Camaro's dual air filter intake snorkel),placed upside down with the 'vette snorkel hooked on your TPI.The 'vette air filter would go on the "mouth" of the filter box or on the opening under the hood
The second idea is to make your own air box out of sheet aluminum from the "mouth" of the TPI opening to the opening in the hood. The bottom of the box would be flat and the sides cut to follow the line of the hood. The top could be flat also, going up to the underside of the hood. At the TPI "mouth" you put a K&N cone/oval filter.
If you want I can send you some drawings of these two ideas, granted I'm no Rembrant but it would be easier to "see" the finished idea than to explain it. 724Gearhead@msn.com

That might work, but those will be really hard to find without spending an arm and a leg. Would just a throttle body cone filter do okay? Thanks.

you can only use the cone air filter on the throttle body is you have a speed density TPI 90-92. OTherwise, you have MAF and you cannot put a conical air filter on, for it will rid u of your necessary MAF.
