TPS check
I have a question about checking my TPS voltage and its operation. I looked over the tech articles on this site where it explains how to do it. However, there are three wires that come out of the TPS and I am unsure across which wires to take a voltage reading. I know that the black wire is the ground. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
My car has been hesitating a little and at WOT it stumbles a little. It doesn't do it when I roll on the accelerator. When I got my car back from the engine builders (1100 miles ago). I found a couple of minor vacuum leaks. I fixed them and I want to check the IAC, and the TPS to make sure that they are set properly.
Also, is the IAC located right below the TPS?
Thanks for your help.

Re: TPS check
Top and bottom TPS wires, if I remember correctly. Also, yes, the 4-plug part below the TPS is the IAC.

Re: TPS check
One wire will read 4.5 - 5.0 volts all the time. The opposite one will be ground. And the one left, will move inbetween 0.0 (.54) and 5.0 (4.5) when the pedal is pushed. That is hooked up and key on.
Otherwise (unhooked) it will just read ohms, two will be high, and one will move compared to the other two. A smooth steady change in numbers is good, on the moving one.

Re: TPS check
OK,
So I checked the TPS voltage, by the way it was the top and middle wire (back and blue) that changed in voltage as I moved the throttle. It read 0.79 volts when the throtle was closed, and 6 volts when fully open. So I loosened the two screws holding the TPS and tried to adjust it. Unforunatelly, this is as low as it will go. It will vary from 0.78 to over 1 volt. Now I can't get the TPS screws tight without the TPS voltage to be over 0.85, and this is what it currently is set at.
I think that the throtle might be open a bit too much. I think I will try to check the IAC next. However, the metal covering on it is still there and I don't see how it could have been altered. Any suggestions to what might be going on?
