Is a AFPR really worth 60 bones?

Just wanted to hear what you guys have to say before I spend money on one, I know that 60 doesn't sound like that much, but to some people it is.

It really all depends on what mods you presently have, and what mods you are planning to do in the future. On a stock TPI, I'd spend the money on intake and exhaust improvement before I thought about an AFPR. Tell us some more about your car and we'll be glad to give our $0.02.

Make your own AFPR. I used a 1/4", fine thread bolt. I had a nut brazed to the top of the housing. I adjust it just like the expensive ones. If needed, throw a little silcone glue on the threads if it leaks.
I'm probably just cheap, but considering what you get for $60-90 in an aftermarket AFPR, I don't feel it's worth it unless you don't have the means to convert your own. Considering the advertising philosophies of many performance automotive aftermarketers, they'll take the worst-case scenario to make the most aggressive power gain claims (so they can be just barely legal in their advertisements) and try to make everyone believe they'll get the same increase. If fact, most engines will run best at very close to stock settings. LT1 engines actually lose power when the fuel pressure is increased more than 2-3 PSI above the stock setting.
Then again, if I recall correctly, the VP of Sales and Marketing at Accel is Mr. Ben Dover, and he has relatives at some other aftermarket companies...

If you just want to boost FP, and don't plan on making constant adjustments (I'm not sure who would), you can just open the FPR up and place washers between the top and the spring, thereby increasing spring pressure (and FP). Just expirement with the thickness or number of washers until you get the desired FP.
I have a Holley AFPR if you want to buy it off me for $40 bucks. I purchased it for $90. Email me if interested.
