85 TA keeps dying until warmed up

Cool engine - start car, fires, runs for about 5 seconds then dies. crank again, fires, runs for a few seconds then dies. I can keep doing this and as the car warms up it runs a bit longer each time with an erratic idle. It doesn't run smooth - it's almost like it's missing but I don't think it is. It appears that the car is running extremely rich while this is happening. I can keep the engine running but periodically tapping on the gas however, if I press down the gas and hold in one spot, the RPMS go up but then decrease until it dies again.

AutoXray shows that the MAF sensor see's air coming in, TPS is at 54mV, Manifold and coolant temp raises as expected. O2 sensor operating properly. The injector pulse width does vary greatly.

When the car gets into open loop mode it runs fine, however, sometimes it sets a lean code if it sits at idle for an extended amount of time.

Fuel pressure is up but the gauge sweeps back and forth so fast when I tach-up it's a blur.

I tried starting the car w/o the cold start valve plugged in and the engine wouldn't even start.

If anyone has a dirrection to point me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

UPDATE: By reading thru the other posts here (since only David replied here) I decided to try unplugging the MAF sensor. The car ran great from the start and kept running great other than the problems I'd expect from not having the MAF sensor hooked up. Next day - plug in and it died right away. Unplugged it and it ran again. I put my old MAF sensor that I removed 5 years ago back on. 3 days in a row it's started and has run great.

Note: old MAF wasn't faulty. Replaced it in hope to correct old problem that Rich @ cruzinperformance helped my fix
