I got a couple new hot rod and chevy magazines and ive seen a few ads from GM performance parts places posting ads for These COMPLETE Vortec heads for around $430-$440.... That plus the new Vortec TPI manifold would be a pretty good combo for a 305..... right??? also id slighty port and FULLY POLISH the manifold and heads....

They look like a pretty good deal....... the only problem i see is the $400 for the TPI vortec manifold!

 

Yeah. I thought so, I got my heads for free and was tired of waiting...then they try to get $400 out of the damn base after over a year. So my Vortec heads are sitting on a shelf after all that port work. I may sell them, but I'm using TFS 23* heads on my motor now. I'm kinda dissapointed, the base should be more like $300 to keep it an 'affordable' alternative. For a few bucks more you could buy a new Edelbrock base for $330 and aftermarket heads! That's my route.
