Finally going with the #24's

Okay guys. My car has been running like crap since its been back on the road because of bad injectors. A while back I bought a set from Accel which were 24lb. I haven't installed them because I have a SD system and I am going to get a chip done by Ed at FastChips. I'm planning on gutting the air box and getting some high flow air filters to go with the extra fuel. Any other suggestions that I should do during this short project? I will be tight on money so nothing outrageous. I just want it to run smoothly after I'm done. It should be fine to run off the stock fuel pump with this setup right?

Also, my car runs much hotter after putting on headers. In the city it gets well over 220*. Should I go with a colder thermostat since I'm getting a chip made anyway? I'm thinking maybe a 180* stat. It runs at normal temp while cruising. I think 160* might be too cold.

Go with a 170* thermostat. The only place to get them other than TPIS is the dealer (AC Delco). Look in the Tech Article section of this site under the cooling fan topic. It lists the part number in there. If you call and ask the dealer for it they won't know, its not in the catalog. But if you tell them the number it will show up. Why? I couldn't tell you. But according to most TPI knowledgable people, 170* is the temp you should be running with.

I think those injectors are going to be a little big unless you have some future plans-wait thats a stupid question cause we all have future plans for more power.
You will have to run lower pressure to not run rich.

Best with 356-13.7@101mph

(Damn the 2.8!)

NAPA also stocks a 170deg thermostat. Also, try drilling 4 very small holes around the base of the thermostat, this keeps a hot pocket from developing around the thermostat (at least thats what I read somewhere, supposed to help). Don't forget a new fan switch to turn the fans on earlier. I have SVO #24 injectors in my ZZ4TPI. I run 35 to 38 lbs of pressure. My BL runs a steady 108 (computer pulling fuel). A blip of the throttle returns it to 128 (perfect).
Thats with a stock L98 chip reprogrammed for #24 injectors and with my S&P ZZ4TPI chip.
