Need a part for my 1986 engine!!!!
Need a part for my 1986 engine!!!!
I have fully changed out the 1988 camaro(which had been flooded) with all the parts I had from my 1986 camaro that had the tuned port injection. I need a part that is called a silencer GM# 14082490(discontinued). Please Please help I need this last part so I can finish my car. I have the hose blocked off now thinking it is not necessary but the pump that is located right next to this part doesn't have anywhere to pump anti-freeze so it starts blowing anti-freeze out the back of the pump. The part looks like a coke can that has a whole in the center of it and has a tube coming to the top of it. It is located in the bottom left of the engine and is painted black. Please help!!!

Dude..you have problems. Nowhere does any AIR system connect to any part of the COOLING system. If you are truly working on the air system (which supplies air to your exhaust manifolds and cats), then you can use your old parts.
If you are working on the cooling system...the 86 did not have a heater bypass valve, and in stock configuration, routes the coolant from the intake into the TB, from the TB to the heater core, from the heater core to the radiator. No special devices needed.
