TPIS Bosch in-tank pump...850 HP???!!

Here is my dilemma. I have a 406 minirammed motor with Holley 255lph in tank pump using stock lines and I am running out of fuel pressure at 6300 rpms.

I already ordered the Racetronix hotwire kit and am looking for a bigger in tank pump. I stumbled across this pump that TPIS sells. Its a Bosch in tank and claims to support 850 HP. Anyone ever look into this?

I am wondering if it feeds a bulkhead fitting in the sending unit to a -8AN line and uses the stock 3/8" line as a return.

do you have experience with it? Does it really support that kind of HP?

I was also thinking about a double Walbro 340 setup sort of like the Turbo Buick crowd does. They run higher fuel pressures and cars on stock lines into the low 10's on these.

look about half way down the page.

Re: TPIS Bosch in-tank pump...850 HP???!!

That doesnt look any different than the Bosch pump I have, that I paid much less than $350 for. I wasnt aware it was intank only, because it had a 3/8" inlet and I had it mounted inline. I wonder if that pump really is any different... kind of doubt it. I'm not using it anymore, I might be able to read the part number off of it if I can get the hose off we used to try and insulate it... its noisy. I dont know about 850HP, but at 450 it was keeping up fine.

Here's another view of what is likely the same pump

At one time both TPIS and Accel were selling the same pump, and both are a slightly modified Bosch unit because the outlet fitting is an oddball size. Look up one for a early-mid 80's Porsche 928, thats what it is. Rockauto sells a Delphi version of it for $208.
