First Time at track........ 1/8 mile times

I ran my T/A for the first time tonight. What do you think about these times. My best run was a 1.994 60 ft 1/8 mile 8.915 @ 78.68 MPH, I also had a 1.999 60 ft 1/8 mile at 8.971 @ 78.26 MPH the other run times were one at 9.09 4 runs at 9.1 and one at 9.2
I'm still runing my car on a Hyper-Tech 305 TPI chip and on Goodyear RSA tires. Would I have better times if I get a chip for my set-up? On the 9.1 and 9.2 runs I had my fuel pressure at 43 PSI I bumped it to 45 PSI and got the 8.9's and the 9.0 time slips. Thanks, Jason

Nice looking engine, those are some pretty good times, should be low 14s in the quarter. You could definitely benefit from a new chip though.

Agreed, nice times and driving That chip with the larger injectors probably works better than one would think, but there is a little room for improvement...

Jason, I've had pretty much those exact times in the 1/8 with the 1/4 time being anywhere from 13.80's to 14.00's.
I've got a stage 2 Fastchip by Ed Wright that I am selling if you're interested.

Thanks, guys. I think I would benefit from a custom chip. Firebird maybe we can meet up one day. 88 IROC BOB, Thanks but I would need a chip for a 5 speed tranny. I hope to get me a chip in a few months.

I think you could see a MAJOR improvement with some fine tuning in your PROM. With the mods in my sig, I ran a 9.037 @ 79.61 mph in the 1/8 in horrible air.

On the other hand, you could be losing some time with driver error in your shift points. Try having your car dynoed so you can shift at the best point in the powerband.
