Ls6 cam shaft?
Max,
Nothing is impossible. If you wanted to machine and shrink on larger journal rings, stretch the lobe centers, then regrind and polish the new journals, you could make it work. Then again, you'd still have to remove and recut the distributor/oil pump drive gear. And don't forget to machine the nose for the old cam gear. But it is possible...

Team,
As Max was saying, forget it. It just isn't worth it, especially when you consider that there are a lot more and better cam grinds available for the SBC "original version". I haven't seen a 0.655" lift cam for a LS engine yet, but you can get a fistful for the SBC. In about twenty years or so, there may be almost as many good choices for the LS1/6 engines (NOT!), but why wait for something that is already available and fits perfectly?
Frankly, I doubt that the "LS" family of engines will have a "Snowman's chance of keeping a woody in Hawaii" of ever outlasting the original SBC engine design. When you consider the Vortec is essentially an old design SBC and is still used, that's getting close to 50 years of production (1953-200?). Will there be an "LS" engine produced in 2050? I kinda doubt it. New technology will replace it before that. Will there still be SBCs running? As long as there is gasoline...

IIRC the journals and base circle are actually bigger. And then the valve arrangement and firing order are different, so... It would be an interesting pushrod arrangement to say the least
If you really wanted, Comp Cams will make you the same thing that will fit in a L98 for $750 plus tax and shipping.
