Idle Problems
Here's what I have, its an 89 camaro with a 305 TPI when I go to start it the fires right up and idles for a few seconds at about 2000RPM and then dies right after that. I replaced the MAF sensor, both temp sensors, and the MAT sensor any one have a clue?

does it break up if you rev the motor, also has the fuel filter been replaced in recent history?

Yes it does break up a little as I rev the motor. I'm not sure on the fuel filter but I put a brand new fuel pump in the car when I put the motor in.

Re: Idle Problems
I doubt its the main route of your problem, but sometimes you never know. I would change if for the fact that they about 6 bucks at a parts store and should be done as part of good preventative maintainence. Also do you know how to reset the the IAC?

Re: Idle Problems
What fuepressure are you running with the new pump?
If you have too high pressure the car will set the rpm higher to compensate for the higher fuelpressure.. the pressure should be ~44PSI (without vacuum).. If you got some stuff done to the engine, you may have some PSI more if you want...

No I don't really know how to reset the IAC. I read a little bit about it but I'm not 100% sure. As for the fuel pressure I'll have to check that. Thanks for the advice.

Re: Idle Problems
Also I would go through and check all the sensors you can especially the TPS as well and I'm assuming you already checked the base timing on the balancer with the plug disconnected from the firewall. I would pull that and see if she'll idle, obviously there will be a CE light but if the car holds idle at 750rpm give or take a little then start going through and check all your sensors 1 by 1, until you find one that is no good.
