code 43....help

just finally got done swapinga camaro engine into my elcamino...we bought a stand alone spped density system with no emissions(who needs them anyway) and me and my dad took it out to drive yesterday and we got a code 43, now ive read that it is something wrong with the ESC but we dont use one of those on our system(the system says we dont have to) but the manual on the paper did say it needs a certain knock sensor, but we didnt get the one it said to get, so my question is could it be the knock sensor causing code 43, or is it really a low voltage somewhere, please help.

MIKE

p.s. does anybody know how to set the idle, i was told you have to put it into a certain mode and adjust it but it didnt work and it has a rough idle and stalls sometimes?

Yes you must have a knock sensor for a 305 or 350 90-92 speed density TPI engine. The sensor is different depending on the computer and the engine size. There is a tech article on this site that discusses setting the TPS and IAC sensors that are part of setting the idle.

Everyone with a street car in the United States needs the emission control devices so we can keep the air clean and breatheable, by the way.
