Charcoal Canister
Charcoal Canister
do you have to run a charcoal canister in tpi cars. cause i'm in the process of doing a tpi swap into my firebird and i'm trying to get rid of all the emission stuff as possible. and i just needed to know if theres any way to go with out it. thanks
i was just wondering if anyone knew of a way to go with out using it. i think theres a sensor with it and i don't want the engine to run bad without it. so if anyone has a tpi car without the charcoal canister please tell me how to do it up right thanks
the fuel tank vent line runs into the charcoal canister, so you really need one. i have run my car for about 8 months without one because i never got around to buying one. just whatever you do, dont plug the vent line, it will cause pressure to build in the tank. just run the vent line outside of the car a bit. as for the electrical connections, you can just disconnect them and it wont hurt a thing. you will need to plug the vacuum port on the throttle body that the charcoal canister connects to though.
