crossfire to tpi swap?
crossfire to tpi swap?
I was wondering if anybody out there has successfully swapped a crossfire intake for a tpi setup. If so was it worth the hastle? how did you match the wireharness up? did you gain much power? would you recomend anyone else do such a thing? Thanks in advance for your input!

I think anyone who has driven both would recommend it!
to do the wiring, you would be best off knowing your wiring in your car (82?) and the wiring in the system you are going with. Engine & EFI swaps go better when you have everything necessary so you would be best locating a complete donor car. The MAF system is very forgiving of a little different engine (cam etc) and it has a 2 pulse VSS, which any crossfire Y or F body has already so that's a bonus.
You would gain power from this setup because of fuel atomization and intake runner size.

Keep the CFI
In terms of just HP, swapping to the TPI system might make a little more power but in the end you will still need to upgrade your exhaust heads, cam, intake to make real power. Considering all the hassle of swapping to TPI, i'd do the latter which is not only worth it for power but it is worth it because the car would still be somewhat original. There are not too many CFI cars floating around anymore. And yes they do make an aftermarket CFI intake...i think its called the x-ram or something like that.

If you have not been there already, then go to the Cross-Fire Vault.
