How to gut the MAF??
How do you get the MAF apart to grind down the fins??
FC,
Do an archive search for MAF + modified + heat sink.
Then do a search for MAF + replacement...

You don't take it apart. Get a hacksaw, undo the blade, slip it through the MAF and reattach the blade. Saw away. Cut it close, but not so close you cut into the plastic housing. Any little bit sticking up can be ground down with a dremel. Be carefull and do not break the MAF wire in the "eye". I've made covers to go over the ends and seal them on with duct tape until I'm through with the mod.
I've found it to be beneficial even on "stock" 350s with AFPRs,, and even more help to more powerfull combinations.

if u really want it to be a perfect job, take it to a machine shop after following BADDSS`s advice of taping up the ends of the eye that holds the wire, and have them mill out the fins, at the most they might charge you a few $$$ or if you want to send it to me and i can mill the out for ya..
