testing MAF? Please read.
my buddy has an 89 iroc that I smashed into a mazda 626. I gave him the front of my car and my Glasstek 4" cowl hood. His air cleaner would not clear the front of the hood so just to get his car on the road I removed it running just the sensor zip tied so it wouldnt hit the belt. It ran fine for a couple of days but now it doesnt run at all. However it doesnt throw any codes. I unplug the MAF and I get code 33 and the car runs fine. Is ther a way to test the MAF or for a short in the connector. I need to fix this I feel like an *** .
Cursed,
You can test the MAF with a DMM if you fabricate your own jumpers or back-probe the weatherpack connector:
The connector for the MAF sensor is as follows:
You'll want to check the signal at the "C" connection, and ground at the "B" connection.
A 350 should show a voltage slightly above those on this 305 at a similar RPM.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery to clear the ECM? It may revert you to the base lookup tables long enough to get running for diagnosis.
