Changing Intake Gaskets

I just bought a 91 GTA 350. With a fresh .0040 over 350 in it. At the back of the intake oil is leaking. I dont know what they did wrong putting it back together but i am going to replace the gasket. I need to know what gasket is preferred, what is needed to be done to get that mess of metal off, and what lil mods i would do while its off. And if i should use any kind of permetex?

What is leaking? If it is the intake manifold, buy a tube of orange permatex silicone and run a 1/4" bead of it along the front and back of the engine block under the intake manifold. It could be the distributor, there is a small o shaped gasket that goes underneath it ontop of the intake manifold.

While you have it apart, you could port the base, the plenum, add an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, change injectors...

Make sure you torque all of the bolts down correctly, run the bead of silicone between the intake manifold gaskets and use it to hold them there and you won't have any leaks.

I am pretty sure its leaking the oil at the back of the intake, looks dry around the distibutor.
