new best times :)
my new best now is a 14.116 @ 97.58 mph with a 2.168 60 ft on street tires
this is at a track that is at 1,200 ft elivation and it was 55-60 degrees, not sure about the pressure or humidity but it is oklahoma and its usually a little bit more humid than other places
i'm running a 305 TPI that has the intake siameses about 1.5 inches and ported a little, stock runners, ported plenum, stock heads that haven't been touched, stock cam, stock internals, 3.08 gears and it is a 5 spd, hooker ceramic coated shorty headers, 3 inch y-pipe and a cutout
i do have a question for you guys though
on another run i ran 14.185 @ 97.82mph with a 2.300 60 ft.
now going by the every .1 under 60 ft is .15 at the end of the track my other run should have been a 13.9x. what could be a reason for me not getting the 13.9? slight knock maybe?
i feel i shifted good (i have made probably upwards of 60 passes with this car this year)
oh and those 2 weren't a fluke i have 14.28, 14.217, 14.148, 14.136 to back it up
and a 14.295 with the cut out blocked off making it go through the stock cat back and flowmaster muffler
so what were people saying about 305's being crappy motors
valve shroud this
j/k
i know 13's are possible with slicks but i'll be there in february when i do some head porting and more siamesing on the intake and possibly prom tuning. i'm running the stock chip and stock fuel pressure setting!!!

Really nice times, you need to get some nitto's and get the 60' down into the 1.9 range and you will be in the 13's.
Got to ride in a 1le camaro with a 305, 5 speed and it ran strong.
On your ?
You might have got spark knock then again it could be you shifted a little bit different that time. Maybe clutch slipped a little bit off the line and gave you a better launch.

Wow those are some good times!!
Just one question for you, did you feal any difference after you siameses the intake and how much more RPMs can you get out of her before the power starts to drop off?

Thoes are good times with street tires, hell I run a half second slower et, but only 1 mph slower. With a very similar combo, i've only run about 10 times down the track though in the last 18 months. I'd recommend the SLP chip $80 with shipping. I picked up close to 3 mph and .5 sec with it. 15.1x at 92-93 to 14.6x at 95-96. also, ported plenum(not a real mod), edelbrock headers, stock 2.5" pipe to flowmaster, SLP chip, homemade ghetto cold air. I bet a cam/springs/roller rockers would put you well into the 13s. Did you notice anything with the siamese base? I'm going to try to get my done this week and see if I pick anything up with just the saimese base mod, before i put the cam i have in. I'll probably port it almost the whole way though. I have 2 bases so. Get the SLP chip, it has a rev limiter at 5500rpms though, in case you one of those guys that love to run up to 6 grand, it won't happen with the SLP chip. I definately noticed seat of the pants difference and you see the track difference.

the siamesed intake was probably good for a tenth or so.
i didn't feel any loss of power under 3k but could tell a noticible difference on the top end.
it probably moved my torque curve up 100-200 rpm because i didn't siamese too much
the way i can tell the difference from top end is not sotp but in how much more my tires spun when i shifted into 2nd and 3rd. it got sideways in 2nd and had a fairly good reel for 3rd considering the 3.08 gears
sotp can't tell you anything because you always want to feel more after you do something
track times: 1mph improvement from the siamesing, and that was with bad plugs! so i would guess maybe 10-15 rwhp at the max but it wasn't so much peak but a flatter top end torque curve.
this christmas i'm gonna siamese some more and port my heads so i'll be well into the 13's
gettin an AFPR for christmas with the die grinding set
then maybe a cam for my b-day in april and then i'll save up and do some custom eprom stuff (hopin for low 13's possibly 12's
)
