more injector questions
I am replacing my number 2 and 4 injectors and have the plenum off and the fuel rails exposed. The car has not been run in 24 hours and when I bled the schraeder valve only a few drops of gas came out. Does this mean my fuel rail is de-pressurized and it is ok to seperate the rail from the injectors ?
There are 4 bolts to take off to lift the fuel rail and release the injectors. Is this as easy as it looks ? Has anyone had any problems separating the fuel rail from the top of the injectors ? Should I expect a fight or will it come willingly -- I am concerned that I might damage the fuel rail.
Does anyone know of any tech pages on this site outlining how this job should be done ?
thx, RP.

Pal,
If there is no pressure at the Schrader valve, the system has no pressure. There may be some residual fuel sitting in the rails and regulator, but it shouldn't be under pressure. Everything should be fine unless you are working by candlelight.
Remove the steel fuel lines, and the fuel rails lift off the intake with the injectors attached. The injectors have clips that hold them into the fuel rails at the upper ends. Once you turn the clips ¼ turn, the injectors should release and be able to be pulled out. The 'O' rings are fairly tight, and it may take some effort to remove the injectors.

Many thanks for the excellent help. (Where do you get a pic like that of the TPI rails ?).
