where, what is EGR

Uh, I feel pretty stupid--just discovered that I have mistaking AIR for EGR. What is the EGR, where is it located?

Axle/Gears: 3.45 Borg-Warner

The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR)is located under the plemum between the fuel rails mounted to the manifold. Its purpose is to meter exhaust gases back into the engine to lower combustion temperatures.
