I need some help. I'm new
I am looking for a good pair of heads for my 1986 305 TPI with stock 58cc heads. I am interested in world castings, and am wondering what kind of increase in power u can get from the torquer 305's, or should i step up to the regular torquers with the 67cc's. If the cc's are higher, how can I raise the compression? I heard u could mill the head, but i dont even know waht that is. Im new and need lots of help!!
I have a 212/218 comp cam in the works, as well as headers and hi-flowing intake. If this helps at all.

Welcome and happy rodding.. I can't answer you about the heads, but I can tell you that milling the heads is a process in which the head's face (the side with the combustion chambers) is ground down a specified distance. This makes the chambers smaller, thus increasing compression ratio.
welcome to the forum...
to get the world heads down to 58cc, youd have
to "angle mill" the heads. approx. .045".
this would really weaken the sealing and deck
area. plus the use of thick intake gaskets
is a have to thing. other than that look for
305 specific heads. they are clearenced for
the 3.875 bore, most aftermarkets are opened
up for the 4" bores. no problem using them just a lil more work to keep the intake valve tweaking the cylinder edge with mega lift
cams. FYI learned from experience.
GM L98 aluminum cylinder heads are 58cc.
practical gain would be cooler combustion
chambers but for the $500-700 nekkid a bit
pricey upgrade.
