Arrghh...Do I have to get new injectors?

As you may have seen on the other post I made, I am replacing the O-rings on the injectors before putting them back in.
Now, when I started looking at them, I noticed that several of them had cracks and even missing pieces around the "edge" on the brown cap around the bottom end of the injector. That is the egde that the o-rings are "resting" agains, - is this critical? Will it leak fuel if they are installed like that? Do I need to buy all new injectors?

Nope, they are fine. They are actually called pintle protectors, tho some claim they help atomize the fuel... I seriously doubt it but anyways...
You can get new ones for less than a buck a piece, NAPA should have them.

Yea, theres some small tabs that fit into a shallow groove in the injector body, if you have new ones it might be easier to carefully break/cut the old ones off rather than try to save them. Be real careful not to mess up the pintle, then you will be getting new injectors.
