Starting Problem
Starting Problem
Hi everyone, I have an 88 IROC 5.7TPI. The car usually takes a long time to crank before its starts. I thought it was my cold start injector so I disconnected it, but I still have the same problem. Usually when I start it I smell gas but only for a second. Someone told me it could be my CTS but I can't find any replacements for them. At my local parts store, CTS brings up the sensor that goes into the block on the drivers side for the temp guage, not the sensor that goes into the intake. Any ideas or part numbers I can try? Thanks everyone for your help.
It may be a bad fuel injector or two. I had the same problem, I am getting my injectors flowed, blueprinted and matched. After I get the engine all back together, I'll let you know if it helps the hot starting problem I had. Until then... check the resistance of each injector with them unplugged after 15 minutes of sitting after the car was as operating temp.
