Considering L98 Heads for my 90 T/A
Well, after lots of thought I think I want to put L98 heads on my 305 TPI based 90 Trans Am. This car is to be driven almost daily so I'm not trying to get big power. I've also got a 383 build going on, I just want more power until that one is done. What I was wondering is should I use 1.5 or 1.6 roller rockers? Also what would be a good cam for these heads? What else will I need for the swap other then the heads of course, and valve covers? Any help would be great.

I'm not sure how much power you'll gain doing that swap. The iron L98 F-body heads are not that great, and you'll lose compression going from the 58cc 305 heads to the 64cc L98 ones.

Maybe you should not do the heads and instead just put in a new bumpstick. I used a Comp Xtreme Energy Hyd Roller cam (212/218 dur @ .050 .488/.495 lift 110 lobe seperation) in my 305 with matched springs, Hedman Jet-Hot coated headers, and 3'' back exhaust. The car had NO issue tackling stangs and other 3rd and 4th gens. Everyone thought that car had a 355 in it. I was very happy with the idle quality and the cars new found power, even though is was "just a 305." What was great about the cam was it made power in the low end, 1200, and all the way to 5200, which is as much as I'd go with a stock TPI since it only makes air till 5000.
