Yes, you can swap the cam and get a noticable difference. But without doing the intake and heads, you won't get the full potential.

Definitely don't go too large unless you plan to change/modify the heads and intake, or you will end up with a mis-matched system.

I wouldn't wait, Other than going to true dual exhaust with H-pipe My car had no "real" engine mods before the cam. And you notice, heads or not. But as a side note this was a 305 and thus it breaths easier with the same setup than a 350. Good luck!

I think I would use the money for a cat back k&n air filter all the free mds you will probly get the same power mabe more and do a lot less work. You have to look at it this way if you do the work your self it will coast you at least 300 to do the cam swap unless you bought your cam used a roller cam usaly start at 250 all thow SDPC sells take off zz4 cams for 100 i think That would probly be a good cam for you if you do decide to do the cam change. I dont think it will be to much cam for the springs in your heads call SDPC tech line and find out the lift of thr zz4 cam and see if it will work. then you can probably do it for a round 200 but while you have evry thing a part go ahead and port mach all the intake stuff and port the plenumm. If this is as far as you plan on going in the engine if you do not plan on getting heads you could also take your heads off port mach them your self to the intake polish them up and pay a machine shop 150 for a three angle vale job and 50 to mill them down just a hair to raise compresion alittle and for around 500 dollers you will gain atleast 50 horses probably more not bad then you can always add headers and cat back and see even more. But I would only do the heads if you do not plan on buying a set latter in life.
