Engine died :( advice on rebuild?

hey guys
unfortunately my motor blew tonight. i press gas pedal and it doesn't even move (i know it's not trans. cuz engine doesn't rev at all and my trans was JUST pro-built)...
not the end of the world I wanna rebuild my engine anyways.

What should I expect for price to rebuild?
I'm looking to get about 300hp n/a out of the engine setup.... then i'm going to top it off with a 100hp shot of nitrous.

So i assume pistons are the big factor in the rebuild process with nitrous? I know it's all important and i'm going to be doing a LOT of research.... but what would you guys do in my position? I wanna spend about $2 000 rebuilding the engine and about $1 000 to port/polish heads.... and about $500 for a cam kit... basically i want to keep engine under $3 500... i think i can get at LEAST 300hp with that right?

thanks for ANY advice guys
garett

Get quality products the first time and definately go with a forged bottom end and pistons. That way you can put quite a bit of nitrous to it to it and not worry as much. Also have the engine ballanced. With $3500 you could build one hell of an engine.
