Are flat tops OK with Vortec heads/TPI setup?

I'm thinking of ordering the new TPI Vortec manifold for my 350. I currently have a nice running engine with flat top pistons in my street rod. I have a set of Vortec heads laying around and a complete '90 TPI setup. Do you think this combo will work or will it be too much compression?

Flat tops are ideal actually. GM recommends only using flat-tops with fast-burn heads which are very similar to vortec heads.

Using flat tops will give you about a 10.3 comp ratio. A little steep with the 64cc chambers, and I have read that they are more like 61cc. If you have a good cooling setep, and access to good fuel, 94 oct, then it could work. The last thing you want to have is an engine that requires mixing race gas unless you want it that way of course. If you get dished pistons, make sure that they are a 'D' dish. Keith Black has a dished piston that is only a 12cc dish. perfect for the application. Most valve reliefs are about 6cc anyway.
