hi, just finished swapping my L98 tpi motor in my car. im having a problem now. when i start up my car first off it is kinda hard to turn on. it kinda chokes. also form some reason its making a very weird noise when its one sounds almost like the pistons are hitting the valves but i cant be sure it gets louder when i give it the gas. might be an exhaust leak form the headers but should it be so loud?? im very lost and confussed. also i dont have the o2 sensor hooked up just yet, could that be a problem?

 

Check your timing.

 

how do u actually do the timing? i know that u unplug the est wire but what should the TDC be at, like what number? i have an LT4 hot cam btw

 

at first just turn the distributor until the engine runs smoothly then use a timing light to get it perfect.
