Question About Vortec Heads

Question About Vortec Heads

I have an 89 Iroc with a stock 305 TPI from either an 85 or 86, I am looking to a mild drivable build eventually and I am looking for a good route to go, I would like to know what advantages I would get from 96+ Vortec/Fast Burn Heads? They came off the 305 truck motors so I assume more torque maybe? But I know nothing about Vortec setups, my father had a GMC 1500 with a 350 Vortec but I was only a kid so I'm in the dark, any info would be appreciated, thanks.
