WTF!!! This crap is bull sheet

I have a 1992 T/A and it's being a beeyoch! I can get it to start by feeding it fuel from a spray bottle and locking the TPS to full throttle. After I get it running and warmed up I can relese the TPS and it will idle on it's own. When I go to give it full throttle it dies. I can rev it up slowly to redline but not wide open throttle. I checked the MAP and TPS sensors and both are good. IAC starts out at 128 steps and drops to about 20 steps when it's warmed. I read the BLMs at 160 no matter what I do. This is what puzzles me. What would cause the BLMs to be that high?? I think that might be the root of my problems. This all happened after I got the engine a little wet one day. This engine is unmodified an bone stock.

Re: WTF!!! This crap is bull sheet

engine running very very lean. The computer can't compensate over 160. A vacuum leak would do it but it would have to be a large vacuum leak and your car wouldn't run very smooth at idle. When I had this problem it was because the person who swaped engines in my car before I bought it left the 19# injectors in when I needed 21# injectors.
But I see that you are running 24# injectors and that should be fine. Post a data list from a scantool.

I had to remove the sig. It is for my 89 and I'm having the problem with my 92.

Hummm,,, Coolant temp sensor. That would cause all this havoc? I'll check.

its def a large possibility; your symptoms sound like those caused by a malfunctioning CTS!

and if not, its an easy and inexpensive start.

Re: WTF!!! This crap is bull sheet

Hey,

I have not checked the cts yet, but. I did check the fuel pressure and there is NONE. It won't even register on the gauge. The fuel pump is coming on and pumping but only enough to barely trickle out of the schrader valve. I am going to try to check the pressure out of the feed line alone. The laptop scanner is saying the fuel pump voltage is good. I am wondering what would cause the fuel pump to work one day then I pressure wash the engine and the next day it won't even get the car started. Is there something else besides the regulator that can cause the pump pressure to be so low?

Re: WTF!!! This crap is bull sheet

I believe if the CTS was bad your fans would run all the time. I think you have found your problem allready. It could just be the FPR and not the pump. Good luck.

Well,,,, The one main fan does run all the time. It has done that ever since I have owned it though. That is a relativly short time though. I have not even had it registered for use yet. Still working on the body.
