fuel pump question on my 85 IROC
ok i need a new fuel pump considering i'm not getting enough pressure at all to open my injectors up all the way that's not the question.
the question is: which is the best way to change the fuel pump on my IROC option A being to cut a hole above the tank in the trun and or B just drop it.
if your gonna say A please tell me the best route to go about when doing that.

Don't cut a hole. It takes about a hour for me to drop my fuel tank.
Once you get the rear out of the way and the exhaust moved over enough the tank can easily come out.

you definately do not want to cut a hole, but dont be fooled into thinking its an easy project dropping the fuel tank. will take novice mechanic 5-6 hours first time (with a hoist). drop exhaust yes thats part of it, disconnect fuel lines, rear suspension, drop the rear end about 3 feet from bottom of car to get enough clearance to remove tank (you have to twist it sideways to line up filler neck with body hole) this is no easy trick when you have a hoist, would be even more difficult without, though i have heard its been done. recommend using gm/ac delco fuel pump, ask for the one that fits buick grand national turbo, or turbo trans am, they are the same exact pump on the outside, but create much greater flow than camaro pump. also: do not re-install the pulsator! (square/oval piece on sender above pump) throw it away, they are notorious for causing pressure bleed down overnight, remove the pulsator and replace it with the short piece of rubber hose that comes with the pump.
