TPI 350 SD setup.

I have a problem that when the car starts it will runokay for about 30 seconds with light smoke then after that is back fires badly runs really bad and will try and stall.

I have tried fixing this problem by changing parts i have changed so much yet still no luck.

ECM, Memcal, Loom, Injectors, IAC, CTS, Coil, Leads, Plugs, Pickup coil, Ignition Module, Dizzy, rotor arm, O2 sensor, Battery, starter, Map, Fuel Regulator, Cleaned Throttle body, New Airfilter, Radiator, Oil..etc etc..

I have the base timing at 6btdc.

The engine has no emmisions and has a EGR block off plate.

The middle pipe behind TPS is blocked off also.

The problem is there before it even gets warm, yet sometimes very rarely it will run really smooth for longer around 3-4 minutes and then try bogging down and trys to flood itself.

As you can see i have tried very hard and spent alot...The engines nice and clean now after polishing parts when it was apart but thats no good with out it running...

Please help im at wits end...

 

hey how u doing im having that same problem im thinking it's the "fuel pump" thats acting up i replace so many parts time/money i have a heavy smell of fuel in the car of gas too so thats my next part to replace.

 

Please keep me updated on your problem to...I have just ordered a new tps i will see how tht goes...
If you are smelling gas then the pump must be doing something have you checked your fuel pressure at the rail this shoule let you know if your pump is pushing enough pressure...I have found that the oil keeps getting flooded with petrol also you should check this also.

 

if ur oil gets flooded with gas ur intake gasket or head gasket may be fuked...or, did u put ur piston rings in properly?

 

i had the same problem change the tps is bad

 

Im hoping the gaskets are not bad thats beyond my capability....the gas in oil im sure is due toit running crazy rich and not always starting thus squirting fuel ad leaking down into oil...
But i will bear in mind its possible...
I have not touched pistons at all....

I am waiting on my new tps i gotmy fingers crossed real tight as i pumped so much money into thisnow i just cant afford another penny this side of christmas...

I should get sensor this week itscoming over the big pond as we speak..
