Is installing an inline fuel pump on '88 T/A possible?

I have an '88 T/A with 350 and lots of high performance parts. Just cranked it yesterday after a rebuild. Was trying to set idle this afternoon when suddenly engine wouldn't start. I realized my fuel pump wasn't coming on. Checked fuse then jumpered 12V to "A" wire on fuel pump relay and pump is not coming on. I replaced pump not to long ago and don't want to go through dropping the tank again. Can I install an inline pump in the system and forget about the intank pump?

You really need to remove the in tank pump if you want to run an inline pump. You can't pull fuel through a bad in tank pump.

You could cut a nice access door in the rear so that you won't have to drop the tank. Search the forums and you'll see what others have done!

After sleeping on it I figure no choice but to drop the tank. Will look into installing a pickup tube in place of the pump and then getting an inline pump. Thanks for the help.
