Feul issues (305 Tpi)

So im having fuel issues in my 87 Camaro 305 tpi Auto, I just installed 24# injectors, AFPR, 255 lph fuel pump, and a new fuel filter.

If I spray spray starter fluid it starts for a few seconds. All the fuel componts are new. I hooked up a fuel pressure guage and it goes up to 40 psi at start up, then bleeds down slowly down to 20 psi within 5-10 mins.


I do have a chip to run the 24# injectors

Sounds like you have a internal leak, You have to check if its the injectors or the FP regulator thats leaking. Do it smell fuel when you start it ?

EDIT: and what injectors are you using ?

brand new 24# svo injectors, and a AFPR with a new spring and seal.

it doesnt smell like fuel.

Could be leaky injectors, does it say Denso on the side ? if it does, they may have been sitting some years on the store and they stuck up...
start it and pull power 1 on 1 and see if t runs any worse when removing the power to the injectors. if it get worse, they speray, but if there is no change in rpm it may not firing..

my friend just bought new 24 from blue oval for about 200. i tried to talk him into Bosch 3 from FIC that were flow matched. but he insisted these were the way to go. I helped him all day saturday and the thing ran like crap. Fuel pressure would leak etc. it was tuned for 24's. We pulled it apart and found 2 injectors were leaking. Called Blue oval yesterday and they won't do anything about it. We found out that the SVO has been discontinued and these guys bought all the surplus.
these could have been made 5 yrs ago. The new SVO's are Bosch3.. Orderend a set of FIC 24 Bosch 3's.. going into tomorrow.. You get what you pay for. Blue Oval does not check injectors before they send them. They are not a injector shop, just a sales place. New injectors that cheep? there is always a reason. Buyer beware!
