Common Car Question

When I start up my Z, all this white smokes pours out the back and it's a lot. I haven't had the oil changed in a while so is that the culprit?

Thanks

Re: Common Car Question

The nissan "Z" true name translated is "my fair lady" so some smart marketing guy used the option numbers just like GM did. I don't know or care who was first. (240Z or Z28) My vette is a "Z51"

White smoke could be oil, Check the plugs.

Re: Common Car Question

Pure white smoke is coolant, If its aliitle grey then I would say its probably oil.

Re: Common Car Question

Yea it's grayish, I put a quart of oil in the car, do you think that's it?

5W-30? That's what it said on the engine oil cap.

Re: Common Car Question

White smoke = coolant = head gasket or intake gasket
Black smoke = rich = fueling, timing or tuning issue
Blue smoke = oil = rings/valve seals

Check your oil level and your water level
One will show you where the problem is
