Tpi swap - Timing, EST bypass, need help please

Hello, I recently swapped 88 TBI motor to 86 TPI motor into firebird. I set the base mechanical timing and the motor runs great with the EST bypass unplugged. When I plug the EST bypass in the motor runs a bit rough, and when the car is put in gear (automatic trans) it slams into gear. When the EST is unplugged everything is OK. Is it ok to leave unplugged? (probably not), and any suggestions on where to trouble shoot, or what may be going on? This swap is complete with rebuilt trans, donor wiring harness, with computer #1227165 Any help would be appreciated. Thank You!!
