Fuel Pump block off plate?

Im currently doing a TPI swap into a TBI camaro and I was reading on tacreationsusa.com that one of the things you need for the swap is a fuel pump block off plate. I wasnt sure if my new electric pump just replaced the old pump when reading this. It says; "PLATE THAT BLOCKS OFF THE HOLE IN THE SIDE OF THE BLOCK WHERE MECHANICAL FUEL PUMP WOULD NORMALLY GO"

Do I need to pay attention to this or no.

Re: Fuel Pump block off plate?

Shouldn't, only carb'ed cars have a mechanical fuel pump that attatches to the engine's block on the bottom as described. TBI fuel pumps will be in the fuel tank just like TPI, unless you install in inline, of which you may have to change the sending unit to a carbed unit.

Block's were slow to change over. If you currently do not have a plate don't worry about it. If you do have a plate, put it back on.
