305 tpi on 350 tbi
305 tpi on 350 tbi
Just bought an 89 350 tbi can i put everything from my 305 tpi system on this motor. Can i keep the three fifty heads or is it better to keep the 305 heads? Any computer changes? Any injector changes?
Re: 305 tpi on 350 tbi
I would keep the 350 heads since the compression was a little higher on the late model 350. The swap shouldn't require any changes to the fuel injectors. It would run a little stronger with larger injectors but when you consider the cost and trouble it's not worth it unless you are trying to ring everylast horsepower out. I swapped my 85tpi to a 350 and it runs great.

Completely different ECM's.
Completely different ECM's.
8 22lb injectors required for what is now a 350TPI vs 8 19lb injectors in a 305TPI.
Did I also mention that they have Completely different ECM's?

I just re-read.
He's re-using the intake and just changing the shortblock.
The injectors should still be changed. 19lb injectors on a 350 will most likely run lean.
