LT1 TB Disassembly Question

This question is for anyone who has completely disassembled a L98 or LT1 TB. I have my LT1 TB stripped down to where only the throttle blade shaft remains. I have chisled off the four factory staked points holding the circular throttle shaft retainer in place at the TPS end of the throttle shaft and I can slide the shaft sideways,, but not quite far enough for the shaft retainer to be free to slide off the shaft (if you have done this yourself you know what I'm talking about). Is there something else I need to remove on the lever arm end of the throttle shaft to allow the shaft to slide a little further sideways toward the TPS end of the throttle body? It only needs to go an additional 1/32" sideways to allow the retainer to slip off the shaft
