Hello,

I have an '87 Transam GTA with an 305 TPI, auto trans.
I can get the engine running when it's cold but when I shut it off it won't run again, but i I wait for an hour or so I can get the engine running again.

Maybe that someone has occured the same problem and can help me out with this.

I had a very simular problem. I changed every sensor in the upper half and the injectors, but in the end, the knock sensor and the coolant temp sensor were bad. It was making the computer throw the timing way off when it would go into "open loop". It would run okay at best until it reached 180-190 degrees or so, then it would go nuts and run rich, belch black smoke, and barely run under 3000 rpm. I belive I was getting code 15 and code 43 from the computer. Hope this helps....

 

Thanks for the reaction, but I don't have any faultcodes yet. I still have to hang a computer on it, for the codes, if there are any.
But I'm going to check those sensors if they are damaged in some kind of way. And let u know how I'm doing.
