piston rings

sorry if this may go in another thread..

but im lookin for a pair of piston rings on jegs. most of what i find on there are .065 over ( im looking for .060 rings). so i searched on summit and found some that are the .060 over that i need, then i use that SAME EXACT part number and they come up as .065 over on jegs. Ive never done rings before, but am i supposed to order a set thats .065 over? or .060 over? i would ASSUME .060 over, but then again i get to thinking about it and i kinda think i should get the .065 over since the piston isnt the EXACT size ( this is where the .005 extra comes into play) as the cylinder. im looking at this set here..

im thinking about running a small shot of nitrous, like 100 or 125 at the most. and ive been told that moly rings are bad with that and cast are a better choice, but i assume thats more of a to each his own kinda situation. any recomendations?

Re: piston rings

Well, what are you actually doing?

If you have an engine bored .060, then get the correct rings for iot...I'd assume, if they say .065, then you need to file to fit for the ring gap.

I hope you're not just measuring taper at the top of the bore, and wanting to re-ring based on said taper? If so, you'll be pulling pistons in short order.
