wierd starting problem
wierd starting problem
i have a 89 gta with a 350 tpi. car starts just fine in morning and at night but when the car sits in the sun in the afternoon it wont fire. i go to crank it it sounds like its about to catch but it wont i usually wait about 15 mins and try it again and sometimes it will start it almost seems like its flooding itself. i have no idea what it could be that would make it not start when its been in the sun any ideas?

If you let it sit all day (without a morning start) is it still hard to start?
I'm wondering if you have injectors bleeding off and pooling fuel?

I'm thinking it has something to do with your cannister purge then...since the cannister purge is designed to vent fuel vapors into the cannister (instead of the air we breath) then suck them back into the TB at some point of start up/running...if the cannister is fouled (full of fuel) then could be that when the "purge" cycle begins, it's actually sucking in raw fuel/vapors more than the engine can handle at startup.
